Congratulations on your graduate’s remarkable achievement! Commencement is not only a major event in a graduate’s life but also a celebration and acknowledgement of you – friends and family – who have provided guidance, care, and support to the new graduate. We hope the information on our website will help you have the most enjoyable experience possible on this special day.

Commencement Ceremonies

Due to inclement weather expected for Friday, May 12th, and Saturday, May 13th, the SWTJC commencement ceremonies have been rescheduled for Friday, May 19th, and Saturday, May 20th. The location of the ceremonies will now be at the Uvalde County Fairplex Arena.

General Public Seating

There will be open seating for all guests in the stands. For security purposes all guests will be asked to walk through a metal detector prior to entering the facility.

Services for Disabilities

Individuals with disabilities who need accommodations are asked to contact the Disabilities Services office. Please call (830) 591-2908 or send an email to to set up an appointment to discuss the accommodations. Appointments can be made from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00 am – 12:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Media and Photos

The SWTJC Public Relations staff will be covering the event exclusively from the field during the ceremony and will also broadcast the ceremony live via Facebook and YouTube (Please visit SWTJC website on graduation day). No other individuals or media personnel will be permitted on the field.
