Annual creative arts contest canceled due to COVID-19 concerns
Uvalde, TX, January 7, 2021 - Organizers for the 40th Annual Creative Arts Contest have decided to cancel the event due to the rising COVID-19 cases in the college’s service area.
“Seeing the rising numbers of COVID-19 cases, college officials made the difficult decision to cancel the event,” said Ismael Martinez, social media and public relations specialist who oversees the contest. “After canceling last year’s contest, we hoped that we would be able to have the annual contest this year; unfortunately, that isn’t the case.”
Currently, SWTJC campuses and buildings are closed to students until further notice.
