SWTJC students dress to impress
Southwest Texas Junior College students who will be interviewing for a job or participating in job training no longer have to worry if they do not have the proper attire. The Phi Theta Kappa Eta Beta Chapter at Southwest Texas Junior College in Uvalde have professional attire available for students in need, as part of the recently launched Career Closet.
The college Eta Beta chapter participates in the Five-Star Chapter program through Phi Theta Kappa International Headquarters. One of the requirements of the Five-Star Chapter program is the development and implementation of a college service project. This year the chapter chose to create a Career Closet.
The Career Closet began operating on November 13, 2017. The closet is located at the Transfer and Career Center in the Flores building, and is open every Monday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Students are limited to one full outfit at a time and are able to receive a new outfit on an exchange basis. For more information on the Career Closet program please contact Phi Theta Kappa advisor, Randa Schell at rschell@swtjc.edu or 830-591-7296.
