SWTJC celebrates graduation of first paramedic class
Under the tutelage of SWTJC's esteemed Allied Health and Human Services Division, the first-class paramedics demonstrated unwavering commitment and dedication throughout their rigorous training, which has equipped them to tackle emergency medical care's challenging and vital responsibilities.
The commencement ceremony commenced with a heartfelt welcome by SWTJC's Allied Health and Human Services Division Chair, JJ Suarez. Addressing the gathering, Suarez praised the graduates for their remarkable achievements, acknowledging the countless hours of study, hands-on training, and clinical experience that they invested in reaching this momentous day.
Distinguished speakers graced the occasion, including Romelia Aranda, former Dean of Workforce Development and Adult Basic Education, who encouraged the graduates as they embraced their professional journey in service to the community.
Adding to the distinguished lineup of speakers were two esteemed City of Eagle Pass Fire Department members, Chief Manuel Mello, III, and Assistant Chief Rodolfo Cardona. Both chiefs expressed their admiration for the graduates' dedication to public safety. They praised SWTJC's relentless commitment to producing skilled professionals who would undoubtedly save lives and uphold the community's well-being.
As the ceremony progressed, the names of the first-ever Eagle Pass Paramedic graduates were called one by one, eliciting a palpable sense of pride and accomplishment. The first SWTJC paramedics class include Pedro Abrego, Maire Katherine Aranda, Jose Balino, Luis Barrientos, Robert Bazan, and Sean Perales.
The SWTJC community extends its warmest congratulations to the newly graduated paramedics as they embark on their journey to the community.
