Powerline Technician program graduates 11 during ceremony

Uvalde, TX, May 10, 2022 - A total of 11 graduates were awarded their powerline technician training certificate on Friday, May 6, at the Tate Auditorium in Uvalde.
 
Graduates include Juan Barrera, Ryan Ramirez, Julio Chavez, Jose Luna, Jr., Ethan Luna, Wilbert Ringer, Chris Coronado, Benjamin Strong, Jesus Menchaca, and Jarrod Gatica.
 
Aaron Ramos, who also graduated, was not in attendance due to being on the job as a powerline technician.
 
SWTJC President Dr. Hector Gonzales welcomed the family and friends of the graduates and thanked them for giving the students the support they needed to get through the training.
 
The guest speaker was Tony Arce, AEP Manager, External Affairs. Arce was instrumental in developing the SWTJC Powerline Technician Program and continues to contribute to the expansion of the program.
 
Students were presented with a certificate of completion by Rudy Ballesteros, SWTJC Workforce Training & Development Powerline Instructor.
 
SWTJC Workforce Training & Development Director Kristel S. Sanchez, SWTJC Board of Trustees President Dr. Harry Watkins, and Dr. Gonzales were also a part of the presentation of certificates.
