Phi Theta Kappa chapter earns multiple honors at regional convention

Members of the Eta Beta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa visited the Phi Theta Kappa Texas Region Convention on March 5 - 8 in Abilene.

Members in attendance were Riley Rawald chapter president, Alana Rubio chapter vice president, and Cielo Castro service officer.

Other members in attendance include Lizette Gonzales, Hayli Karnes, and Kimberly Meza, which were accompanied by chapter advisors Dr. Randa Faseler Schell and Ryan Alldritt.

The Eta Beta Chapter came home with several awards including the Five Star Chapter Plan award for the 46th year in a row, the Honors in Action & College Project Participation Award, the Roll Call Winner for District V, the Award of Distinction for the chapter’s College Service Project, and the Award of Distinction for Theme 1 for the Honors in Action Research Project.

The Eta Beta Chapter was also named First Finalist for Most Distinguished Chapter in Texas.

The chapter welcomed four members, including Hayli Karnes, Kimberly Meza, Lizette Gonzales, and Jackie Sanchez, into the Five Star Competitive Edge family.

According to Schell, three members were inducted into the Texas Hall of Honor, including Alana Rubio, Kimberly Meza, and Michael Aguirre-Robinson.
